Start Date: 4/3/2017Start Time: 4:15 PM
End Date: 4/3/2017

Event Description:
Fidel Castro and His Legacy. Discussion Panel

When FIDEL CASTRO died on November 25, 2016, at the age of 90, the world lost one of the 20th Century’s most important and controversial figures. CASTRO, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, will mostly be remembered as the man who accomplished what many thought impossible: an unwavering opposition to American politics and the establishment and continuation, for more than 55 years, of a communist society only 90 miles from the United States.
In this Faculty-led Panel we will discuss the controversial legacy of FIDEL CASTRO and his status as a 20th-Century political myth.
Participants: Prof. Luciano Martínez, Désirée Díaz and Enrique Sacerio-Garí (Bryn Mawr College).
