Eboo Patel – Building a Healthy Religiously Diverse Democracy: America’s Promise in a Time of Crisis
Start Date: 11/1/2017Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Date: 11/1/2017End Time: 9:00 PM

Event Description:

Eboo Patel, Founder and President of Interfaith Youth Core, on civil engagement across difference in a culture of religious pluralism. In terms of worldviews, including both religious and non-religious ones, the United States is one of the most religiously diverse nations in the world.

How we respond as to such diversity is one of the greatest challenges of the twenty-first century. In particular, how do we identify and pursue a common civic good without ignoring or erasing our different worldviews? Building bridges across such differences is critical. But bridges do not build themselves, people do.

Sponsored by the Interfaith Center, Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Community Development, Religion Department, President’s Office, and the Interfaith Council of Southern Delaware County
