International Year of Astronomy: Open House
Event Description The Physics and Astronomy Department at Swarthmore College will participate in the 400th anniversary of Galileo's first astronomical use of the telescope. The events at Swarthmore College are part of the Philadelphia area's No Night Without a Telescope program celebrating the International Year of Astronomy. An astronomy lecture will precede the telescope viewing.
Lecture: 7:30 - 8:00 PM, Science Center room 181
The event will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather making telescope viewing impossible, the lecture will still take place at 7:30 PM.
