End Date: 4/2/2008 End Time: 9:30 PM
Event Description **Sushi will be served prior to the lecture**
Ms. Shalit will discuss the decline of modesty in modern sexuality and how in her view, the current college "hook up" culture is detrimental to both women and men. She labels herself as a feminist and asserts it's not an oxymoron.
About Ms. Shalit:
Wendy Shalit was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Williams College in 1997.
Her essays have appeared in Commentary, Slate, the Wall Street Journal and other publications. Her first book, A Return to Modesty: Discovering the Lost Virtue, was published by the Free Press in 1999 and is currently in its 7th printing. Girls Gone Mild is her second book.
