Event Description

Bernard Woma is a true cultural treasure from Ghana who has toured the world as xylophonist and lead drummer of the National Dance Company of Ghana. He was honored to perform for U.S. President Bill Clinton and Ghanaian President Jerry Rawlings in Accra. His recent American appearances include a performance with the New York Philharmonic, a residency with the Ethos Percussion Group, and teaching at New York’s African Xylophone Festival. Woma is artistic director of Saakumu Dance Troupe and founder and director of the Dagara Music and Arts Center in Accra.
