Event Description Lin-Manuel Miranda is the composer-lyricist of the Broadway play In The Heights, which received four 2008 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in Manhattan's Washington Heights—a neighborhood on the brink of change and manifesting the tensions that arise from gentrification, social mobility, conflicting loyalties, and family expectations. Join us for a conversation with Miranda featuring Ana Rosado '12; Luciano Martinez, assistant professor of Spanish literature; and Rafael Angel Zapata, assistant dean and director of the Intercultural Center. Miranda will also give a reading of his lyrics/poetry from the play. |
