Jason is also a member of the US Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee, a government appointed panel of external experts that has served the country for almost half a century. Formerly, Jason was a Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Board, where he ran the Macro Forecasting team. Jason began his career in 1995 as an Assistant Professor of Economics at New York University and taught at Harvard University. Sedinam also co-founded Dislabelled, an organization that works with people with disabilities and seeks to reform the special education system in Ghana. She also founded YenAra backpacks in 2015, a socially responsible for-profit business initiative that provides unique and functional African-inspired backpacks to an international marketplace. Sedi cuurently works at the TechChange, supporting service design and tech initiatives. Gelber spent 29 years at CBS News, mostly as Ed Bradley\u0027s producer at \u003cem\u003e60 Minutes\u003c/em\u003e. He was also executive producer of \u003cem\u003ePeter Jennings Reporting\u003c/em\u003e at ABC News, where he won Emmy and DuPont Awards for his coverage of the war in Bosnia. His work at ​\u003cem\u003e60 Minutes\u003c/em\u003e included award-winning stories on prison camps in China, sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, and AIDS in Africa. Gelber earned a B.A. in History from Swarthmore and has served on the Board since 2004. He is married to Kyoko Inouye Gelber. They have two daughters, Maya and Clara.\u003cbr /\u003e\r\n\u003cbr /\u003e\r\n\u003cstrong\u003eBen Berger\u003c/strong\u003e, executive director of the College\u0027s Lang Center for Civic and Social Responsibility, is also associate professor of political science. Berger studies the intersection between normative political theory and empirical political science. His book, \u003cem\u003eAttention Deficit Democracy: The Paradox of Civic Engagement\u003c/em\u003e won the North American Society for Social Philosophy Book Award for the best social philosophy book published in 2011. It was also named one of the top 10 nonfiction books of 2011 by Zocalo Public Square, a public affairs think tank. In addition to her professional work, she has served as a member of the advisory committee of the Junior League of Brooklyn, the board of the Dodge YMCA, and recently completed three years of service to Swarthmore\u0027s Alumni Council. \u003cbr /\u003e\r\n\u003cbr /\u003e\r\n\u003cstrong\u003e​Emily Paddon Rhoads\u003c/strong\u003e​ is an assistant professor of political science who has taught on the politics of sub-Saharan Africa. Through this class, her students developed significant pieces of investigative journalism, focusing on activism and protest movements in sub-Saharan Africa with a particular emphasis on women and youth.
